Public Performances

A public performance means playing music or music videos in public. This includes both playback from recordings (e.g., CD or computer) and the public transmission of television or radio broadcasting. If you make any of the above copyrighted content available in your venue (e.g., bar, gym, shop), you are required to obtain a license. This license entitles you to use all protected content in Czechia. Of course, no license is needed if you are listening to music privately.

Procedure
  • 1

Licenses for most public performance categories can be obtained for all Czech collective administrators via the OSA online shop.

  • 2

If you operate a cinema, theatre, or spa facility, you must arrange your license directly with Intergram. In this case, please contact the Licensing and Sales Department, which will conclude a licensing agreement with you.

  • 3

    You submit a usage report.

  • 4

Based on your report, an invoice will be issued.

One-stop shop for public performances

Since January 1, 2018, a single point of contact has been established, through which a single licensing agreement with OSA allows users to settle usage with all collective administrators in Czechia, including OSA, Intergram, DILIA, OOA-S, and OAZA.

This step improves user convenience and ensures all necessary licenses are properly managed. Licenses for most categories of public performances can therefore be processed online via the OSA e-shop. This applies to the following types of venues:

  • Restaurants, bars, cafés

  • Shops, service providers

  • Hotels, guesthouses, accommodation facilities

  • Sports and fitness centers

  • Companies and workplaces

  • Municipal, social, and educational institutions

  • Clubs and concerts

Cinemas and Theatres

This declaration is submitted by producers to claim remuneration collected by Intergram for public performances, broadcast transmission, and private copy remuneration. The calculation considers cinema attendance, broadcast duration, and revenue from sales and on-demand streaming.
